Ibn Zayd?n's qasida “Distance between us came instead of closeness”: a new approach

In this paper we offer a new approach to Ibn Zayd?n's poem “Distance between us came instead of closeness”, which was directed to his beloved Wall?da bint al-Mustakf?, after being jailed by Ibn Jahwar. In this poem he tried to enhance his feelings for her, and we highlight the style and the way he used Arabic's rhetoric devices to express his feelings and to describe his love, which exerted a powerful influence in the reader of the text.
