This paper presents a review of the illustrative-comparative evaluation of general use computer tools for translators from the user‘s point of view. It refers to the PhD thesis by the same author that intends to provide new data for customized CAT tools evaluation. The paper sums up the aims of the thesis in question, defines the subject of study and then describes the evaluation process, including its design, quantitative and qualitative analysis, preliminary results and provides the conclusions of the study in question.
