«ELEGÍA DE T. GRAY, ESCRITA EN EL CEMENTERIO DE UNA IGLESIA DE ALDEA» (1843): ANÁLISIS PRAGMÁTICO-COGNITIVO

Resumen

En este trabajo se va a analizar la traducción del célebre poema prerromántico «Elegy Written in a Country Churchyard» de Thomas Gray, llevada a cabo por José de Urcullu, traductor de principios del siglo XIX. Para ello, se recurrirá al enfoque pragmático-cognitivo de la traducción propuesto por Ernst-August Gutt (1989), que radica en el Principio cognitivo de Relevancia de Dan Sperber y Deirdre Wilson (1986). En concreto, se estudiará aquellos recursos interpretativos a los que el traductor recurre para, primero, inferir y después, comunicar al receptor meta las mismas proposiciones y semejantes explicaturas e implicaturas de las que se nutre el texto de partida.
