El Arxiu Centelles. Una aproximación a la construcción visual del combatiente republicano a partir de la fotografia documental

En 1976 se recuperó una pequeña valija que contenía cerca de 5,000 negativos que registraron la Guerra Civil española en territorio catalán, autoría del fotorreportero Augustí Centelles. No se trata de una réplica de la conocida “Maleta mexicana”, sino de una historia más que contribuye a construir y acercarse al conflicto desde una mirada recién descubierta al tiempo que valora y recupera el trabajo de este fotógrafo.Este texto revisa el conflicto español desde la óptica republicana de Centelles con el objetivo de rastrear la forma en que Centelles observó y fotografió la lucha y la postura que tomó frente a ésta desde su oficio fotográfico. A partir del uso de la fotografía como herramienta de análisis para estudiar un proceso histórico determinado y como problema de estudio para documentarlo a partir de propuestas metodológicas vinculadas a la historia social y cultural.
Con una muestra representativa de retratos individuales, se busca acercarse al modo en que el autor construyó la imagen del combatiente, partiendo de la premisa que lo hace bajo una mirada republicana, con intereses políticos y para usos propagandísticos y mediáticos específicos.
Abstract:
In 1976 a small suitcase containing nearly 5,000 negatives that recorded the Spanish Civil War in Catalonia, authored by photojournalist Augustí Centelles recovered. It is not a replica of the famous "Mexican Suitcase", but a story that contributes to building and approach the conflict from a newfound while valuing and recovers the work of this photographer.
This text reviews the Spanish conflict from the optical Republican of Centelles in order to trace the way Centelles observed and photographed the fight and posture that took opposite this from his photographic trade. Based on the use of photography as a tool of analysis for studying a particular historical process and as a problem of study to document methodological proposals linked to the social and cultural history.
A representative sample of individual portraits, seeks to the mode in which the author built the image of the fighter, starting from the premise that makes it under a Republican look, with political interests and for propaganda purposes and specific media approach.
