This paper establishes a comparative analysis between William S. Burroughs's The Naked Lunch (1959) and its film adaptation Naked Lunch (1991), directed by David Cronenberg. The work proposes a journey through the artistic production of both creators, starting with an investigation of the viral in their respective works. Throughout this study, the convergences and divergences between the text and the images of the father of the New Flesh will be presented. For that purpose, we will look at the different dramatic, narrative and iconographic elements that form the backbone of the universe of both creators.
