The development of technological society in which we live, and even the shift from a rural to an urban lifestyle, have represented a radical social change in many communities. This transformation has affected, among others, the working life. In this sense, language, more especially proverbs, the proverbs are considered a useful historical resource to keep alive the footprints of culture and civilization of a nation. Our goal is to approach the Iraqi culture, especially working life, including the role of women, and traditional professions, as they remain in the proverbs of Arabic Iraqi language.
