Habits of reading in college. case degree of administration of the tejupilco professional academic unit

The objective of the research was to identify the reading habits of the students of the Tejupilco Professional Academic Unit Administration under the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico during the period 2017A, the population was composed of 156 students of both sexes with a sample size of 111 students. To identify the reading habits, the structured and valid reading habits questionnaire (CHL) was applied, obtaining a Cronbach's alpha of 0.859; the information collected was processed with the statistical package SPSS see 17, to determine its frequency and percentage of incidence of reading habits.
55% of the population are women, 50% of the students come from rural communities, 61.1% of their parents do not read a year book and 70% did not read with their children when they were small, 56% of the students do not receive a gift book per year, 44.4% never visit the library to read, 58.35% of the student population have reading problems, 66.75% have the ability to concentrate on reading and are happy when they read, 60% of students like to read adventure books, travel, nature, science and technology, romantics, humor, sports and science fiction, 55.6% read to learn, 66.7% dedicate less than one hour to reading a week, 77.8% dedicate to reading less one hour a day, 72.2% of students do not read the books recommended by their teachers, 66.7% of students comment that teachers do not take into account the extra class readings as score in the grade, 55% read in silence, there is no discussion, of books, and finally 75% of teachers leave readings and ask for jobs
