Abstract

This paper deals with the analysis of the 35 news about reading in the Portuguese newspaper Jornal de Notícias in 2012. The goal is to find out if new technologies are influencing the reading habits. The analysis is based on the study of the frequency rate and semantic value of a key words selection – present in the news corpus – for the object of the study. They allow observing the public discourses evolution along the period of time studied as a consequence of the new technologies development. The reading concept evolution along this period is also analyzed as well as the issues related to the reading concept such as reading sociology, its relationship with education and also the new reading formats.

Belén García-Delgado Giménez, Universidad Europea de Madrid

Bele?n Garci?a-Delgado posee el Doctorado con Mencio?n Europea en Documentacio?n por la Universidad de Salamanca. Es licenciada en Filologi?a Hispa?nica y adema?s en Documentacio?n por la Universidad de Salamanca. Tambie?n posee el ti?tulo de Ma?ster en ELE por la Universidad Internacional Mene?ndez Pelayo. Ha participado en los proyectos de investigacio?n de financiacio?n interna de la UEM Inmilingu?a II, y de financiacio?n externa SDF: So?lo Deporte Femenino, el primer programa de radio sobre deporte y mujer: investigacio?n, igualdad y aprendizaje y tambie?n en congresos internacionales relacionados con la lectura, documentacio?n, literatura, innovacio?n docente y ensen?anza de Espan?ol como lengua extranjera. Desde el 2008-2009 ha participado en los tribunales de evaluacio?n de los proyectos de fin de carrera de la Licenciatura de Traduccio?n. En el curso 2009-2010 ha coodirigido el programa de radio Una tarde libros en la cli?nica de medios UEMCOM. Adema?s, ha sido coordinadora internacional de la Facultad de Artes y Comunicacio?n.
Ha trabajado en diversas unidades de informacio?n, entre ellas la biblioteca de la Universidad Europea de Madrid. En la actualidad imparte cursos en varios postgrados en la UEM y tambie?n en las asignaturas de Licenciatura y Grado de Biblioteca, Documentacio?n y Fuentes de informacio?n, en lengua inglesa y espan?ola, en las titulaciones de Periodismo, Periodismo + Comunicacio?n Audiovisual, Triple titulacio?n, Publicidad y Relaciones Pu?blicas, Publicidad y Relaciones Pu?blicas + Comunicacio?n Audiovisual, Comunicacio?n Audiovisual, Relaciones Internacionales y Traduccio?n e Interpretacio?n.
