About the Journal

Studia Hegeliana is the Academic Journal of the Spanish Society for Hegelian Studies, which is an academic society, founded in 1996, with the aim of promoting the study of Hegel's philosophy, its place within the context of German idealism, in the history of thought and its relationship with philosophical and cultural trends up to the present. This is the very purpose of the journal, also the subjects of the articles it publishes. Its target audience is mainly specialists in idealistic philosophy. 

Published by the Publishing House of Málaga University (UMAEditorial).

The period of publication is annual.

Until 2019 Studia Hegeliana published only monographs. From 2020 it was decided to alternate between monographic and miscellaneous volumes.

It publishes studies in Spanish, Portuguese, French, English, Italian, and German.

Call for papers, reviews and critical notes for volume 11 (2025)

Studia Hegeliana opens its period of reception of contributions for the volume -miscellaneous- of the year 2025, in one of the following modalities:

Papers: original articles, not submitted for review in other publications in parallel. Articles will be evaluated by the peer review procedure. Maximum length 7,500 words.
Debates and Notes: original, not submitted for review in other publications in parallel. Notes will be evaluated by the peer review procedure. Maximum length 3,500 words.
Critical translations: original, not submitted for review in other publications in parallel. For this section it is essential to contact the editorial board.
Reviews: reviews of current books, published in recent years. Reviews and notes will be evaluated only by the Editorial Board. Minimum length of 1,200 words and maximum length of 2,000 words.

The deadline for receipt of manuscripts is 1st March 2025.
