Continuities and transformations
Catalogue of adaptations in Argentine cinema (2001-2024)

This study presents a catalog of Argentine fiction films adapted from literary works between 2001 and 2024. Alongside this inventory, it offers a critical analysis of the evolving relationship between Argentine cinema and literature, tracing its shift from traditional adaptations to more complex intermedial dialogues. In the 21st century, this relationship has diversified: alongside conventional adaptations, hybrid forms have emerged, including essay films, free reinterpretations of literary works, and transmedia projects. The study concludes that the film-literature connection no longer adheres to a unidirectional model (literary text / film) but has evolved into a space of creative exchange where both languages mutually enrich one another. While conventional adaptations persist, the most innovative approaches explore conceptual, poetic, and transmedia connections, redefining the boundaries between these two artistic fields.
