Abstract

Latin America is experiencing a moment of enormous vitality in terms of typography design. It is a totally new phenomenon, reminiscent of what happened in Spain in the early 1990s. Unlike those early moments when digital technology was at a very primitive stage, Latin American designers have been able to take the advance of technology and apply it to typeface design. Proof of this is the quality of the material exhibited in the Tipos Latinos exhibition, which could be enjoyed during the Third Typography Congress in Valencia.
