Abstract

Analysis of the relationship between Julio Romero de Torres and Miguel Utrillo, pro- moters of Catalan modernism, and between Romero de Torres and the North American collector Charles Deering, creator of Maricel in Sitges (Barcelona). is paper is based upon four unpublished letters that provide new data about their friendship. As a consequence of such a connection between Romero de Torres and the magnate, some of the painter’s works were incorporated into Deering’s collection.
