An unknown letter by Karl Rosenkranz (1805–1879), Kant’s successor at the Königsberg chair, a disciple of Hegel and his first biographer, has caught our attention, and we wish to present it annotated to the Spanish public, reconstructing the debates that took place within the first generation of the Hegelian school. At its heart, it is a reflection on the role of contradiction in Hegelian dialectics, as well as on evil and ugliness in the world.
