In Hegel's Phenomenology of Spirit, consciousness will go through a path of experiences and the thread that unites these experiences is the dialectical movement inherent to consciousness, which highlights the need to pass from one station to another, until, at the end of the process, reveal the absolute knowledge. Each experience of consciousness is considered by Hegel as a “figure”, and in this sense, the figures have a historical face, i.e., the experiences reported are experiences of culture, of the development of humanity, which develops in a movement of thinking about oneself. This article aims to analyze the theme of religion in Hegel's Phenomenology of the Spirit and to show how religion constitutes a moment in the process of knowledge of consciousness.
