Hegel based his semester in Jena on the Annalen der Physik, in which Gilbert makes reference to the prediction of the end of the world, inspired by Bengel. This coincides with the commet approach in 1800. He differs from Schelling because of his secularization programme of the Salvation. Feud between Goethe and Nicolai determined him even more. He considers truth like an adventist promise of fulfilled future, similar to Saint John, who defines Revelation (Apocalypse) as consequence of painful signs. He really undertook an intellectual expropriation of the “preambles of the faith”: Kant, moral behavoir; Hegel, human hope.
