Abstract

This article aims to contribute to the field of pedagogy in language interpreting. For that purpose, we will firstly review the role that interpreting teaching plays within Translation Studies. Based on the fact that the subject of interpreting in Spanish Universities is addressed after translation, we will summarise the main differences between the two professional profiles of translator and interpreter. Finally, and based on these differences, a variety of activities will be created to enhance the skills of our future interpreters in the following seven areas: public speaking, memory, vocabulary expansion, register change, concentration, analysis and self-monitoring.
