Information For Authors
Are you interested in publishing in the journal? We recommend reviewing the About the Journal page to consult the journal's section policies (Code of Ethics and Privacy Statement) as well as the Author Guidelines. Authors must register with the journal before publishing or, if already registered, simply log in and begin the five-step process.
No article that does not use the template will be accepted.
The journal is open to authors outside the publishing entity and the REPPE Association. Authors must register with the journal as authors and readers, providing their Orcid number.
Articles must be original and unpublished, as well as complying with the guidelines for authors, and the file must be submitted via the platform.
The Revista Prácticum is supported by the open source platform Open Journal Systems (OJS) and managed by the University of Malaga. A manual on the entire process of publishing an article, from the first steps to the last, is available at OJS Tutorial.
Once the article has been approved and before publication, authors undertake to add information such as notes at the end of the article before the references on the specific contribution of each of the authors to the work to be published, following the recommendations and taxonomies of Contributor Roles Taxonomy. If there is funding to develop the article, it is also mandatory to include the source in the notes.
Authors are recommended to deposit supplementary material, at least the research data underlying the publications, in institutional or thematic open access repositories federated in the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC). It should not be forgotten that institutional repositories are mainly available for this purpose in their institutions, such as Recolecta and Redined in Spain, as well as any other repository in other countries. In this way, we promote open science and offer greater possibilities for transparency and social transfer of research.
Authors should be reminded that it is considered plagiarism to use artificial intelligence (AI) in part or in whole in an article. If AI is used as a research support tool, it is recommended that the data generated by AI be included in appendices as prompts, along with the results of such queries or the processing of the data processed and generated, while also citing it in the text of the article. The rules are available in the guidelines.
The review process has two phases: First, evaluation by the publisher to determine whether the work is in line with the objectives and nature of the journal, as well as with formal and substantive aspects (quality of narration, logical argumentative structure, documentation, methodological rigour - except for experiences and reviews -, results according to objectives and methods) (a response within 15 days). Second stage: if positive, it immediately goes to two expert reviewers for a completely anonymous peer review using a double-blind system. If it does not receive a positive assessment from both reviewers, it will be sent to a third reviewer.
IMPORTANT. Do not forget to complete your profile. That is, name and two surnames, email, institution where you work, ORCID number, a brief CV, signature (see below for help with standardisation), etc. All this information facilitates communication and follow-up between readers and authors, and therefore improves the level of citations.
Before submitting your article, please review the evaluation protocol for reviewers.
We recommend following the help manual for the standardisation of Fecyt researchers and being in the ResearcherID database.
The journal welcomes submissions for its different sections. However, given that we aim to position the journal among the best indicators, we are particularly interested in original research articles within the scientific and academic scope of the journal (we select with a criterion of more than 70%). This is why we suggest following the basic methodological recommendations and indicators (see examples of these indicators) for articles in the research section.
Once the article has been accepted, it will undergo an editorial review and layout process, where a draft of the layout will be sent to the authors for a quick and brief review. At this point, the authors may add an infographic to illustrate their work, either created by themselves or by artificial intelligence, or they may accept the one proposed by the publisher.
