Abstract

The popular and media success of Surrealism has remained alive throughout the XX and XXI centuries. The fashion world has assimilated its influence in a special way. This article looks at the links between fashion and surrealist iconography. We can see how art is capable of transcending temporal, spatial and conceptual boundaries to become an object of consumption. Although it results in its popularization and diffusion, also undermines its first intention, the purely creative, Iconoclastic and breakthrough of conventions, innate to Surrealism, by converting their identifying motives into serial elements and / or stripped of their amazing capacity.
