Abstract

As the title suggests, digital design can be an intangible graphic product, as a transition in the process of design from page to screen, or from graphic design to multimedia design, brought about by information and communication technologies since the 1990’s. This article is concerned with the impact of the effects of the financial and economic global crisis upon education and the professional practices of design, which gives way to a new paradigm wherein wisdom will replace knowledge-based economics and societies. For this reason, this article reviews digital processes on economics as a kind of “convergence” of information, audiovisual and communication industries, “new economics”, and their general implications and evolution towards e-commerce.
