Sinceridad, economía, racionalismo y neomudéjar. Arquitectura de ladrillo en la Málaga del siglo XIX

Abstract

In this article, we study the main examples of the so-called "brick architecture" in the city of Málaga in the 19th century. The term defines those buildings whose exterior show the use of the materials mentioned. lt's based on aesthetic, economic and ideological reasons that establish its
use. At the same time, the conection with "Neomudejar style" is also specified, and the differences with the rest of the nineteenth century architecture are stated. Finally, the buildings are studied attending to their typology.
