Abstract

On the contrary of what it is thought, the image of García Lorca as a “mythical hero” after his tragic death, was not the fundamental reason of the unbounded rejection suf fered by the poet when the  franquista dictatorship began. The critics of  that period could excuse, of some way, the ideological position of the author only if they had find in his work a reading that confirmed the re-humanized expectations of the National Spanish Catholicism. In this article we will analyse how the inadequacy took place in this horizon.
