Abstract

The purpose of this paper is pointing out the importance that the changes in views have on the shaping of a certain aesthetic, re- garding to kitsch. Thus these changes are the result of the transformation in the context of reception of works of art. We intend to enlighten about the mutation that the concept of kitsch has experienced by basing it on both the aesthetic of the reception and the neurology, since this concept changed from a pejorative use to become the paradigm of an ‘avant-garde’ aesthetic. We will suggest the name of Belkitsch for this evolved and positive Kitsch, which escapes from its classic de nition as depending on the existence of an experimental avant-garde to be popularized.
