Abstract

Málaga tried repeatedly holding a tobacco factory a long time ago. Several reasons were quoted far supporting this claim, such as connections with América, strategic situation of Málaga harbour and tobacco liking of its inhabitants. Finally, Tobacco Factory was built between 1923-1929, although some projects for it were passed during XIX century. This article studies the history and architectural value of that, remaining its beginnings as fermentation place of tobacco and cigarettes making factory since 1977.
