This article focuses on the curricular response of Spanish universities regarding the requirements of the market concerning retour interpreting. Within the context of the Western model, we have analyzed the curricula of those Spanish universities that have undergraduate and postgraduate programs in interpreting. As a reference for the Eastern model, we have studied the curricula of the Charles University in Prague. The results showed that undergraduate programs in Spain do not accurately reflect the current market reality, while Spanish postgraduate programs and undergraduate and postgraduate curricula within the Eastern model reveal a positive response regarding the formation of students in the retour direction.
