Quality criteria
The Revista Prácticum works to achieve the best quality service for the articles it publishes by means of quality criteria and indicators throughout its editorial process, such as:
The Revista Prácticum publishes two issues per year at the end of June and December, to date we have fulfilled this punctuality, while maintaining close communication with the authors responding in less than 1 week with the acceptance by the editor to enter the article in the peer review process or its rejection. In this peer review process the authors receive rapid communication of changes and responses from the reviewers that cannot exceed 3 weeks, as can be seen in our process. In case of delay we seek to request the reviewer again with a shorter period, if he/she does not respond to this second invitation we look for a new reviewer. At the end of the peer review process can be achieved in two months and its publication (correction of originals, layout...) in a maximum of 3 months.
Since the birth of the Revista Prácicum in 2016 we work in the concurrence of quality assessment platforms of journals in the measure of the deadlines and times required. Currently we are with 36 Latindex indicators of the 38 that is total and working these two indicators that we are missing for as soon as possible the total. We are reaching higher impact levels in each issue by the MIAR ICDS platform = 3.2. We are classified in level C of Social Sciences journals by CIRC. We are also in the most prestigious international databases for the area such as Dialnet, ErihPlus, Redib... We try to have a balance between research articles and experiences, preferably selecting the former.
The journal is on the most important social networks such as Twitter, Youtube and Facebook, while it is mandatory that all authors have an Orcid number for visibility. Once the article has been approved, all authors are recommended to disseminate and make their articles visible in all their networks and databases, repositories...
The journal has a list of research reviewers from different areas with a selection of quality collected by the call for reviewers that is always open, and a database generated from which we select the best reviewers for the topic and article to be evaluated. With the permanent renewal of choosing the best reviewers, there is an invitation to belong to this database in Invitation to reviewers where it is required at least to have a doctoral degree, to have impact journal publications, to have an absolute H Index in Google Scholar equal to or greater than 3, and to present evidence as an expert in the thematic focus of the journal.
The Journal Prácticum follows the Code of the International Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), where we regulate and control among others the originality of the articles, access to scientific data, address conflict of interest, error correction and respond to reviewers' suggestions. The publisher works to develop good practices in gender equality both in terms of qualitative and quantitative indicators, reporting on possible funding and international support (FundRef), and clarity regarding the work done by each author. For their part, the reviewers should provide constructive criticism, respect the two-week time limit for review or, if necessary, one more week if the time limit is exceeded. Maximum objectivity in their analysis and respect in their recommendations and evaluations.
The platform where the Revista Prácticum is located is the latest version 3 of OJS, and is edited in the journal collection of the University of Malaga, with the advice of quality, support and maintenance of the technological system. Interactive materials are available for the APA reference guides, orientation videos and different formats in the articles, which will be improved and expanded as the journal moves to other stages.
The journal is an initiative of the Asociación para el Desarrollo del Prácticum y de las Prácticum Externas: Red de Prácticum (REPPE), an international non-profit association that brings together researchers from Latin America and the rest of the world on the subject of externships and practicums. Therefore, the languages in which it can be published are Spanish, English and Portuguese at first.
