Abstract

This essay is an approach to the concept of crisis from the theory of systems. A crisis is a deep alteration of a system threatening its function and survival. Social systems use to suffer from crisis given that its restructuring rhythm is slightly lower than the internal and external changes of the system itself. Society is an atypical system whose function is not undertaken for the sake of the entire system but for the sake of its parts. This feature slows down adaptation abilities of the social systems making a crisis the only remedy to these intrinsic flaws of social systems
