CALL FOR PAPERS/ “Picasso Memorabilia”

A renowned dictionary defines Memorabilia as «things that are remarkable and worthy of remembrance». In Boletín de Arte we intend to use the term to reconsider its concept and widen its semantic field, to name and establish as the object of study everything in Picasso's work and images that refers -through clue, quote, allusion, appropriation, recreation, survival, fantasy, or the imaginary- to Art History, museum legacy and the diverse registers of Visual Culture including the persistence of vernacular traditions, the echo of inherited cultures and empathy with non-Western cultures. And, in addition, to all that this implies in the creation of narratives and critical thinking about the artist and his work.

With this special edition the periodical is collaborating with the “Celebracion Picasso 1973-2023” which will be coordinated by Eugenio Carmona Mato, Art History professor at the University of Malaga.

The sections include “Contrastes”, “Artículos”, and “Varia”.

Reception of original texts will be open until the 31 December 2022. Publication is scheduled between October and November 2023.

Reception of articles for Number 44 (2023) will commence on 1 January 2023.
