The paper studies a new Phoenician inscription on pottery discovered by chance at Cerro del Villar in the early eighties. We find seven signs below of an amphora rim, forming part of an incomplete text. The inscription marks the presence of an unusual personal name in the Phoenician world, GRMLQRT, although this would be the first time it has been documented in the Iberian Peninsula and the most ancient evidence of itself. The piece could be dated since the end of 7th until de beginning of 6th centuries B.C.
