It was up until very recently that companies would train their translators internally in accordance to their specific wants and needs, and most of the few articles and papers on game localisation were written by practitioners in a rather private manner. It is worth noting, however, that this has changed over the past five years, and some Spanish universities (also some European ones), have tried to fill in this gap offering modules on game localisation at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. This article presents an overview of the short history of game localisation teaching in Spain, and makes two didactic proposals based on the modules taught at the University of Las Palmas in Gran Canaria, as well as exploring the specific challenges of game localisation in the classroomDownloads
