About the Journal

The European Journal of Family Business (EJFB) is a peer-reviewed, diamond open-access journal published by UMA Editorial of the University of Malaga (Spain). It publishes internationally relevant, practice-oriented research on business-owning families, family businesses, and related fields, fostering communication between academia and practice with the support of the Spanish Association of Family Enterprise Researchers (SAFER).

EJFB is published twice a year (June and December) and does not charge Article Processing Charges (APC). It is indexed in Scopus and ESCI (WoS), and since 2023, it has been awarded the FECYT Seal of Quality by the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology, under the Ministry of Science, Innovation, and Universities. Additionally, EJFB is a member of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

EJFB Included in Web of Science – A Milestone for Family Business Research

I am pleased to announce that the European Journal of Family Business (EJFB) has been officially included in the Web of Science™, specifically in the Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI). As of Volume 12(1) (2022), all subsequent articles are now part of this esteemed database, further enhancing the visibility and impact of family business research.

This milestone reflects our commitment to academic excellence and the invaluable contributions of our associate and assistant editors, authors, reviewers, readers, collaborators, and supporting institutions to the advancement of family business scholarship.
