The purpose of this article is not only to make known a document conserved in the Provincial Historical Archives of Malaga with the reference to the armada of Fernando de Magallanes just before setting out for the "Molucas", if not, above all, to emphasize the fact -although no written evidences exists of any direct trading between Malaga and the Indies since the enactment of a warrant, in 1529 by Carlos I, authorizing various Spanish ports to trade directly with them- Malaga takes an active part in American commerce, supplying those armies that were setting out for the Indies and its colonies with home produced products, even thought this was achieved by having the Low Andalusian Ports as intermediators. See the second document of the apendix of this article as an example of this.
