According to Mithridate´ s letter, writting by Sallust, and with regard to the works of Metrodorus of Scepsius, Timagene of Alexandria and Trogus Pompeius, the letter criticises the cupido profunda imperii et divitiarum of certain sectors of roman oligarchy, and it does not from antirromans or "antiperialistic" conceptions but rather, it is an accusation of certain methods of Roman society and it shows the oligarchy´ s worries taking part in the power and the future of the Empire.
