Army and society: the popular rejection of the quintas in Málaga in the mid-19th century

The concepcion of serving in the Army as an duty obligations, which was exalted by French revolutionary thoughts, arises the publication of "Army Annual Enrollment Orderly" in 1837.
The feeling of rebound that the people in Málaga showed about obligatory army joining and, above all, the ways for evading this "heavy" contribution are, the reasons given for the present work, as advance from our Doctoral Thesis.
