The Andalusian fishing industry undergoes a crisis that may be well compared with the other Spanish and EEC fishing areas, caused by structural deficiencies and by the oversize of the fishing fleet mainly in relation to the fisherie´s capacity. With regard to the other Andalusian economic sectors, and in despite of its poor economic significance in absolute, as well as in relative terms, the Andalusian fishing industry is however important for large coastal areas of Andalusia, and that is the reason which moved us to accomplish the present study.
