Among the indispensable services to carry out the study of the personnel that the Holy Office had distributed in the cities and villages, those coming from the Municipal Public Record´s Offices are of particular relevance due to the fact the inquisitorial public officials had to show before the Chapters the appropriate appointment titles for the investiture. Once the protocalary event had taken place and had been registered in the Capitulary Minutes, the clerk of the office logged down the appointments in the Provisions Books. The data provided by this information emphasizes the influence of the “Suprema” in modern society that reached even the most remote corners of the Spanish geography.
