The city is the stage for public and collective celebrations like the processions of the Holy Week, that are organized and developed by the “cofradías” and “hermandades”. In fact, the development of these rites, shaped like a mediation between God and the people, out of the strictly sacred places, responds to the purpose of estending the religious field. On the one hand, it´s about making to coincide the expansión of the sacred space with the territory of the community in all that are refered to its appearence. On the other, it´s about making to coincide it with the global social structure, that´s tos ay, to expand it to all the social groups, integrating them in a common space that been unified by the same ritual action.
