In this article, which complements the information presented in a previous one centred on the maritime loans and exchanges, we analyse the financing and coverage of the maritime traffic in the Malaga area during the “Reyes Catolicos” era, although paying special attention to the maritime insurance. The remaining show that great beneficiaries of the insurance policies, which were contracted with the Malaga merchants who held interests in the merchant navy, were associated business men whose operations were based in Sevilla.
