A touristic space has to take care of the resources that allow its development. If this does not occur, we would enter into less balanced approaches that cannot been hold up by themselves. If one of the main resources studied in our touristic model is the beach, the enviromental quality of its water, where the bath is taken, that means that it has to be a main aspect to take care of and to be maintained, because this is also one of the reasons for the existance of the tourism. The presented article analizes the quality of the water for baht at the Occidental “Costa del Sol” between 1995 and 1999, stablishing relationships between the oficial index and the reasons for contamination. Later we will show if the touristic demand appreciates the introduced improvements.
