The present article offers a tight synthesis of the Ph. D. Dissertation Settlement on the Bay of Málaga and Its Hinterland at the Beginning of Metallurgy which was presented at the University of Málaga in January 2001. Its aim to summarize results of research in an area which ranges from the coast to the mountain ranges surrounding the Colmenar Depression, where the rivers Campanillas, Cauche, Guadalmedina and Guadalhorce have their sources and flow into the Bay of Málaga, during a period covering a good part of the third millennium and the beginnings of the second millennium B. C.
