Remon Llull, Crusades, Granada, XIVth centuryAbstract
In this article I deal with some Crusades of the XIVth century in the Nasrid Kingdom of Granada. The Second Crusade of the “Sepherds”(1320) and the project of crusade designed in 1329-1330 coincide with two relevant moments in the reign of king Alphonse XIth of Casti-le. The so-called “crusade of Algesiras” (1342-1344) brought into Andalusia many European knights during a truce in the Hundred Years war. The peace of Bretigny (1360) gave Bertrand Du Guesclin the opportunity to come along as he dreamed of being king of Granada. As back-ground, the ideas of Remon Llull about the most convenient routes for an expeditionary force to get Jerusalem.Downloads
