The first temple consecrated to the christendom, when Antequera was snatched of the mussulman control in 1410, it occupies an outstanding place inside the sphere of municipal authority, when being used its dependences like room of meetings of the town council and to harbor the tombs of the conquerors whose families are perpetuated to the front of the government of the city and the head of the nobility antequerana, during Modern Age. San Salvador becomes this way, in a symbol of the flourishing Antequera of the XV and XVI centuries, and its memory will persist during centuries thanks to the patronage of the local civil authorities, privilege granted by fray Alonso de Santo Tomás, once deprived of its parish quality in 1667. In spite of the patronage of the capitulares, the pass of the time and their isolation in the high area of the city, more and more uninhabited, acted, in a progressive and unavoidable way, against heir glorious memory.Downloads
