This paper intends an approach to a scarcely known Ancien Regime feature in Spain: lordship administration, and especially lordship corregidores, in an altogether new context, that of transition to the constitutional government. To that purpose, we show a propographical study of the corregidores of an important town under lordship administration: Conil de la Frontera, in the Estate of the Duke of Medina Sidonia, between 1779 and 1810, up to the interruption of seigneurial regime in this village due to French occupation.Downloads
