La editorial Verso nos ha deparado una muy grata sorpresa a finales de 2024. Ha editado por primera vez en castellano una obra de Jane McAlevey, concretamente la traducción de No Shortcuts: Organizing for Power in the New Gilded Age, publicado originalmente por Oxford University Press en 2016. Esto ha sido posible gracias al apoyo de la Fundación Rosa Luxemburgo. De esta manera hemos podido acceder al trabajo de la investigadora senior del Institute for Research on Labor and Employment, de la University of California, Berkeley’s (UCLA). La obra —brillantemente introducida por el investigador de la Universidad Complutense especializado en el movimiento obrero estadounidense Jaime Caro— se divide en siete bloques. Al inicio se centra en reflexiones teóricas y posteriormente analiza la aplicación de técnicas y metodologías propias de las ciencias sociales a conflictos sindicales, para analizar su eficacia y resultados.
