Este libro nace de la colaboración de diversos profesionales jurídicos y académicos que, bajo la dirección de Itziar Alkorta Idiakez, profesora titular de Derecho Civil de la Universidad del País Vasco (UPV/EHU), identifican y proponen respuestas a los diversos problemas jurídicos que plantea la implementación de las nuevas tecnologías como herramienta para hacer frente al envejecimiento poblacional que se enfrenta la sociedad actual y grava los sistemas de salud europeos. Para lograr dicho fin, la obra se estructura en seis capítulos.
