Abstract

This article examines the social dimension of eating habits in the Ibero-American context during the covid-19 pandemic through research state of art. The studies indicated changes in eating patterns during the confinement of a positive nature in some countries, such as Argentina, Brazil and Spain, and of a negative nature in other countries, such as Peru and Mexico. Likewise, the results obtained in a case study were carried out in October 2019, months before the declaration of the pandemic, in which three groups of people were identified. The first of them was which included the people who cared about food, the second group of those who did not give value to the food, and finally, those who cared about their food, not for health reasons but for other issues such as planetary well-being. In short, the social researchers identified the changes in diet habits, although they did not delve into their reasons.
