The first stages of life are transcendental in the acquisition of a healthy lifestyle. The objective of this study was to analyze the relationship between the level of physical activity and the quality of the diet in primary school students considering, and without considering gender in 200 schoolchildren (55% women), aged 8 to 12, belonging to the Region of Murcia. The Kidmed Adherence to DM test and the IPAQ-C physical activity questionnaire were administered. The statistical analysis showed that there were significant differences in the high CD (p = 0.046) and the DCM (p = 0.010) in the high AF level in favor of women. The majority of participants showed a high CD (48.5%) and an average AF (68%). Regarding the consumption of each food according to the level of FA considering the total of the sample, the Pearson's ?2 test showed that those schoolchildren with higher levels of FA have a higher average of fish (p = 0.003), pasta or rice (p = 0.001) and high CD (p = 0.017). On the other hand, in women with a higher level of AF, they consume more fish (p = 0.026), legumes (p = 0.008) and a high CD adherence (p = 0.004). Regarding men with greater practice of AF, significant differences are observed in the consumption of a second piece of fruit (p = 0.020), in the regular consumption of fish (p = 0.012), in pasta or rice (p = 0.038) and in the follow-up to the high CD (p = 0.002). On the other hand, the ANOVA test showed that schoolchildren with a high level of AF had a better CD score than their homologous peers with a low level (p = 0.001) and a medium level (p = 0.012). In turn, schoolchildren with a medium level of AF had a higher level of CD than their peers with a low level of AF (p = 0.001). In conclusion, the quality of the diet is higher in Primary School students who have a higher level of physical activity practiced, both in women and men.Downloads
