Small games as a teaching methodology in football

Abstract

Paper´s aim was to analyse small-sided games like methodology of teaching on football. For that purpose, an analysis of systematic reviews about this topic was carried out. The search was executed in Web of Science, Scopus and Google Scholar databases, selecting a total of four studies. The findings of these reviews show that the preparation and organization training with small-sided games determine the success of the tactical-technical objectives that we want to achieve. Therefore, in the preparation of training with small-sided games is important that coaches/Physical Education teachers consider variables such as player numbers, pitch area, rule modifications, coach encouragement, presence or absence the goalkeepers, or working time and rest time. Based on scientific evidences analysed in this work, we can verify that small-sided games allow to carry out an optimal and simultaneous training in relation to work of tactical-technical skills and physical fitness
