The study of the Andalucian population during the Old Regime presents-among other difficulties the problem of the sources of parish records which, on the whole, have very clearly suffered the direct consequences of a series of political events starting early in the 19th century. As a result the reconstruction of families was so scattered that today work is being carried out on a study that gives an idea of what living material was like. This methodology, in turn, throws light on other facts such as the proposed line of research: the qualitative and quantitativa study of the inmigration process into Andalucia, extracted from marriage records in the 18th century. Two receiving towns served as initial reference points -Granada and Malaga. together with two other regions, namely the Basque Country and Navarra.
