Abstract

The number of deaths countered during the Spanish Civil War is still an open matter for research. Severe criticism towards researchers arises as a result of not having reached the year of 1990 in the pursuit of data from the Spanish Registros Civiles. So, bearing this in mind we are facing one of the most encouraging research from the methodological point of view as well as regards the value of sources in official Spanish registers and also for the place of repression in the count of historical data.
