In this work we analyse the precedents and parallels in the history of “the rich man and the poor man” and the investment of their fortune in the post mortem life basing on the parable of Luke 16, 19-31, regarding on it evolution of idea about the great beyond in the Judaism and trying to conclude what the prophet Jesus or the writer of the Gospel according to Luke could see or do about that tradition.
